20 Years of Innovation and Commitment: The Story of Emiliano Alaimo at Tecnous

At Tecnous, we celebrate a milestone that fills us with pride: Emiliano Alaimo, today Senior Technical Product Manager, reaches 20 years of experience with our company. His journey reflects not only professional evolution, but also passion for technology, commitment to excellence, and a deep connection with the human values that define us as an organization.

Emiliano joined Tecnous at a pivotal moment in his career. He came from working as a service and support engineer at Agilent Technologies, where he spent seven years while completing his Electronics Engineering degree. After that company’s exit from the country during the 2001 crisis, he joined Tecnous, a direct competitor at the time, with the desire to continue growing in the technical and commercial areas. “Those first days I spent all my time studying to get up to speed with new technological concepts or those I understood only partially. In a short time, I was already teaching courses on protocols and technology at the main telecommunications providers,” he recalls.

That initial drive set the tone for what would be a solid career, focused on continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Among the numerous challenges undertaken over these years, Emiliano especially highlights his work in the electric sector: “A great satisfaction was having developed so many projects in the communications segment of the electric sector, a highly specialized and demanding area where Tecnous is a technological reference and highly valued provider”. That sustained and quality technical contribution enabled him to accompany Tecnous’s transformation and position himself as a key voice within the team.

Over these two decades, the telecommunications industry underwent a radical transformation. Emiliano describes it like this: “We moved from a paradigm based on permanent lines to an ecosystem of technologies that manage data packets. We learned to think in terms of packets, with much more dynamic and flexible services”.

Currently, his interest focuses on free space optical communications (Free Space Optical Communications), where he works on reusing DWDM/FO technology innovatively to make this technology viable in new scenarios.

When looking back, Emiliano does not speak of personal achievements in grandiose terms. What he highlights is the journey traveled, the human environment, and the sense of belonging. When we asked him what it meant to have grown professionally at Tecnous, he answered with conviction: “It means I took a chance on this company. And although in such a long career one experiences ups and downs, I always felt I was in the right place and that I was valued both professionally and personally”.

An anecdote he shares says it all: “Two years after joining, a close family member fell seriously ill abroad. Tecnous allowed me to be absent with no return date, maintained my salary, and helped with logistical matters. That’s when I realized that behind this small great company were very solid human values”.

With an eye toward what’s to come, Emiliano believes the industry’s direction is clear: “The industry is moving toward total convergence: access, mobile, metro, core, all under the same technology. We’ll see more automation, less human intervention, greater efficiency. Tecnous, for its part, is on a path of regional expansion, with focus on new markets, professional services, and project-based organization. It has a future as a regional technology hub”.

Emiliano’s story is also Tecnous’s story. A testimony of dedication, innovation, and humanity that inspires and strengthens our identity as a company. We proudly celebrate these 20 shared years and continue projecting together a future of new challenges and achievements.
