Horizontal Cabling Distances
- The maximum horizontal cabling distance should be 90 m, regardless of the medium, between the telecommunications connector and the horizontal cross-connect.

- The length of jumpers and patch-cords at the cross-connect, including equipment connections, should not exceed 5m according to TIA 568 standard.

- For each horizontal channel (distance from the user equipment in WA to the equipment located in the TR), the maximum length is 100 m.

What tests can we perform?
Permanent Link The Permanent Link (PL) test consists of the connection from a patch panel to a telecommunications outlet (horizontal cabling) using Permanent Link test adapters at each end of the link under test.Channel The Channel (Ch) test consists of the connection from an active device (such as a router) in a data rack, to a telecommunications sales point (horizontal cabling), and the patch cables connecting at both ends using Channel test adapters at each end of the link under test. The recommended length for the patch cable from the patch panel to the outlet is 5 meters.
In each case, we must use the corresponding adapters for each type of test.
