FI-11

Distributed by Tecnous · VIAVI

The FI-10 and FI-11 fiber identifiers are rugged, portable, easy-to-use instruments for installation and maintenance that identify optical fibers by detecting the optical signals transmitted through a singlemode fiber. By using local detection technology (non-destructive macrobend detection), they eliminate the need to open the fiber at the splice point for identification. This, in turn, eliminates the probability of interrupting service.

Highlights

  • Operates from 850 to 1700 nm.
  • Compatible with most AT&T and Corning optical fibers.
  • Uses non-destructive macrobend detection technology.
  • Detection sensitivity of -40 dBm.
  • Bidirectional traffic indication.
  • In-service fiber identification.
  • Center power measurement and display on a 2-digit LED screen (FI-11).
  • Detection of 270 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz modulated tones.
  • Relative zero power reading (FI-11).
  • Power loss measurement through a splice or connector (FI-11).
  • High-intensity LED indicator for active transmission signal.
  • Interchangeable adapters for coated, buffered, or ribbon fiber.
  • Low battery indicator.
  • One-handed operation.
