The Viavi NanoOSA accelerates the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of passive and active fiber optic networks, both CWDM and DWDM (with 50/100/200 GHz spacing). This equipment automatically scans any CWDM or DWDM system across the full wavelength range, automatically logging every channel with its ITU-T channel number (ch), wavelength or frequency, offset, power level, optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR), and other important test parameters. It enables OSNR measurements using the ON-OFF method required in systems with reconfigurable filters (taking noise power at the center of the channel). A very innovative feature of the module is that it includes a built-in SFP/SFP+ slot to tune and validate SFPs. This reduces channel activation time, improving performance in WDM service turn-up processes.
